Digger, a remastered version of one of the most beloved arcade games from the 1980s, offers a nostalgic experience enhanced by touch controls for both iPhone and iPad users, as well as availability for Mac through its website.

In gameplay reminiscent of other classic DOS titles such as Mr. Do! and Dig Dug, players navigate an underground maze where they can dig channels both horizontally and vertically. The game is structured around collecting emeralds and bags of gold while avoiding or confronting various monsters that initially appear in their "nobbin" form from the top right corner of the screen. Excavating beneath a bag of gold causes it to wobble briefly before dropping, which can serve as a strategic maneuver—while falling bags can crush monsters, they also pose a risk to the player's digger.

The digger is equipped with a weapon that fires in a straight line but requires a recharge period that increases with each advancing level. Monsters may transition from their nobbin form into "hobbin" form, gaining the ability to excavate and destroy valuable items as they do so.

As players engage with the game, defeating monsters causes new ones to spawn, maintaining a dynamic level of challenge. Upon completing the monster quota for a level, a cherry appears in place of the defeated foes. Collecting this cherry activates a bonus mode, granting the digger temporary invincibility akin to Pac-Man’s power-ups, allowing them to consume monsters for approximately fifteen seconds.

A level concludes when either all emeralds are collected or all monsters have been eliminated. It is worth noting that players who purchase the game will find it devoid of in-app purchases and advertisements, enhancing an uninterrupted gaming experience.
